The National Soccer team Harambee stars won 1-0 against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The win in their first match in Group A in the Championship of Africa Nation (CHAN,) will give them much confidence and motivation to finish first or second the group to advance to the knock outs.
Austin Odhiambo scored the solitary goal in additional time of first half (47).

The goal sent a huge celebration in the newly renovated Kasarani stadium where President William Ruto was among the attendants.
President William Ruto has promised to gift one million per player for every win and half a million for a draw in every game and Sh600 million if they lift the CHAN trophy.
Former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi popularly known as Mike Sonko also promised to give the team additional Sh400 million if they win.
“I have been supporting the team and lastly I have out three million this time I will give Sh400 million if they win,” Sonko said in a clip on his Facebook page.
Earlier President William Ruto had met the team at state house where he promised the goodies.

After the win he met and congulatulated them and said he will fulfil his promise on the rewards.
The team which cheered and celebrated the win will walk home with a billion if they lift the trophy.
Kenya will face Angola on Thursday and Morroco on Sunday only time will tell if they will walk with sacks of money.
