A close ally of President William Ruto has hinted that the Western Region could take over the presidency after 2032.
Farouk Kibet made the remarks on Sunday during a church service at the African Church of the Holy Spirit in Tumbeni, Malava Constituency, Kakamega County.
Kibet urged leaders from the Western region to unite behind Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, saying the two have a strong chance of leading the country once President Ruto completes his term.
He criticized some politicians who want the Mulembe community to join the opposition, warning that such moves could slow down development in the region.
Kibet, who was accompanied by several local leaders, also rallied support for UDA parliamentary candidate David Ndakwa, calling on residents to come out in large numbers and vote for the party’s candidate in the upcoming November 27th by-election.
