Imenti South MP Shadrack Mwiti has hit out at the opposition, saying it has nothing to offer Kenyans.

Speaking at Gitine village, Igoji East ward, Mwiti urged Meru residents to rally behind Deputy President Kithure Kindiki in order to fully benefit from the Kenya Kwanza administration.

The MP, who was commissioning the drilling and equipping of a borehole in the area, emphasized that supporting President William Ruto’s government is key to driving development in the region.

“The borehole is expected to provide clean, sufficient, and steady water supply to more than 300 households, benefiting both domestic and irrigation needs. This is just one example of the tangible development we can achieve when we work together,” he said.

Mwiti also revealed that he is in the final stages of bringing horticultural exporters to the area, who will partner with local farmers to engage in agribusiness.

These exporters will provide inputs, technical support, and access to markets for the crops, further boosting local livelihoods.

Addressing his constituents, Mwiti stressed the importance of supporting Kindiki, who he referred to as “our immediate neighbour.”

He noted that this is a unique opportunity for Meru to be closely connected to the highest levels of government.

“We have never been as close to the Statehouse as we are now, with a Deputy President from Meru. Let us embrace him and work with his government because he is our direct link to the President and to meaningful development for our people,” he said.

The MP reiterated his commitment to avoiding divisive politics, calling on the electorate to focus on unity and collaborate with the Kenya Kwanza administration to reap the benefits of the national development.

Mwiti also appealed to the residents to turn out in large numbers during the Deputy President’s upcoming visit to the constituency.

In addition to his development efforts, Mwiti is working to equip the region’s Technical Colleges, ensuring that young people have access to vocational skills and empowerment opportunities.
