Meru Governor Isack Mutuma has mourned the late Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, describing him as a fearless patriot and a true defender of democracy whose contribution to Kenya’s political landscape will never be forgotten.

Speaking at Kariene in Central Imenti on Wednesday, Governor Mutuma led residents in observing two minutes of silence in honor of the late former Prime Minister.

The Governor spoke during the launch of a countywide mass cattle vaccination campaign against foot and mouth disease, an initiative aimed at protecting livestock and boosting milk production across Meru County.

Ken Gitonga, the Chief Executive Officer of the Meru County Dairy Cooperative Union, echoed the Governor’s sentiments, noting that the campaign marks a major step forward for the dairy sector.

“Once the vaccination is fully implemented, we expect a significant increase in milk production and overall livestock health,” Gitonga said. “Our goal is to make Meru a leading dairy-producing county in Kenya.”

Governor Mutuma urged residents to honor Raila Odinga’s memory by upholding unity, peace, and commitment to the nation’s democratic ideals.
