Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has intensified his criticism for his predecessor Rigathi Gachagua terming him as a leader who pursues self-destruction with reckless abandon and no sense of responsibility to his community, region or country.

Kindiki said during the last general elections Gachagua took a short cut to the presidency and the same knack for self-destruction ensured that his stay there was short lived.

“My predecessor is a leader who pursues self-destruction with reckless abandon and no sense of responsibility to his community, region or country. He took a short cut to the presidency and the same knack for self-destruction ensured that his stay there was short lived,” said DP Kindiki.

He said this while engaging people at Mumbuni, Maara Constituency, Tharaka Nithi after launching the construction of the Marima—Karigini- Mumbuni- Ntakani- Makutano – Kathwana road.

Prof. Kindiki announced that the contractor for the 7 billion shillings new Nithi Bridge is on site and will be commencing works as soon as the National Land Commission completes the acquisition and compensation of the affected private property.

The Deputy President was accompanied by among other leaders; Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki, MPs Kareke Mbiuki (Maara), Patrick Munene (Chuka-Igamba Ng’ombe) and Gitonga Murugaara (Tharaka), former Tharaka Nithi Governor Samuel Ragwa and former Chuka University Vice Chancellor Prof. Erastus Njoka.

Speakers expressed confidence DP Kindiki will be President William Ruto’s running mate next year and the duo go ahead to win the elections before Kindiki succeeds Ruto as President in 2032.
