Central Imenti MP Kirima Ngucine on Saturday convened a meeting of grassroots leaders at Equator Grounds, Central Imenti, to discuss development matters in the constituency.
The meeting was attended by several Meru Members of Parliament.
Speaking during the function, Ngucine urged residents to continue supporting the current government, saying the region has already witnessed significant development projects and should expect more in the near future.
“We have seen various development projects under the current administration, and more are coming. I urge you to continue supporting the government so that we can benefit even more,” said Ngucine.
Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi, who was also present, called on residents to back Ngucine for a third term, describing him as a visionary leader.
“Your MP is a focused and visionary leader who has the interests of the people at heart. I urge you to support him for a third term so that he can complete the good work he has started,” said Aburi.
South Imenti MP Shadrack Mwiti encouraged Meru residents to support the current administration to ensure continued access to national government benefits.
“As Meru people, we should stand firmly with the government to ensure we continue benefiting from its programs and projects,” said Mwiti.

Igembe Central MP Dan Kiili echoed similar sentiments, urging the Meru community to rally behind the Kenya Kwanza government, stating that the opposition has nothing tangible to offer.
“Let us unite behind the Kenya Kwanza government because the opposition has no real agenda for the people,” Kiili remarked.
On his part, North Imenti MP Rahim Dawood criticized the opposition, accusing it of engaging in propaganda instead of offering solutions to the challenges facing Kenyans.
“The opposition has no agenda for the people. All they do is spread propaganda and sow division,” said Dawood.
The leaders pledged to continue working together to foster development and unity across Meru County.
