Meru senator Kathuri Murungi has reaffirmed his support to the Kenya Kwanza government.

Speaking at his Meru office where he hosted local leaders, Kathuri highlighted key development projects in the region, urging residents to desist from political distractors.

The Kenya Kwanza government has started several projects in our county and it deserves support. We have several roads that are ongoing, our animal feed plant is much supported so as to boost our milk production among other projects. Let’s not be fooled by those making political noise. They failed when they were in leadership” he said.

Kathuri noted that the government has also started completion of projects that had stalled for years.

“The government has released funds for completion of roads that had stalled some even since 2017. Kinoru stadium will also be completed soon, with other stadiums in every sub county. The government is also committed to making better markets for our traders” he told the leaders.

On his awaited nomination to the CS position, Kathuri said that he was in the forefront in search for the current government, and time has come for him to be rewarded.

We fought for this government to be in power. I sacrificed a lot in votes delivery. We need to be rewarded and the time is now for us to reap what we sow” he said.

The Meru senator argued that despite the political heat, the Meru community should not be worried, saying that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and former CS Mithika Linturi wasted their opportunity while in power.

Nominated MCA Kiriinya Mwenda on his part told off former Deputy President Gachagua over his one term slogan, saying his only intention is to disrupt the government’s development agenda.

“As the Meru community, we don’t have time to listen to those that were in power and did nothing for the country. His only agenda is to make noise to our leaders so that they fail to work for the country” said Kiriinya.

He further supported the anticipated nomination of senator Kathuri to the position of a CS, saying he has shown great support to the agriculture sector.

Similar sentiments were shared by Abothuguchi Central MCA Douglas Mutea, nominated MCA Zipporah Kinya and Abogeta West MCA DMK Kiogora.

“Gachagua and his cronies are bitter for they were removed from office when they failed to perform and serve mwananchi. The national and county governments are working to better our country. All we need is to support the agenda” said Kiogora.

He further applauded the county government under governor Mutuma M’Ethingia, saying he is working in harmony with all leaders.

“Through the county leadership, we are able to deliver quality service to our people. Governor Mutuma is working with the MCAs towards achieving better goals for our people. He has further increased ward fund from Sh.20 million to Sh.23 million” he summed.
