Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Peter Ndegwa has mourned the late Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, describing him as a selfless leader who made immense sacrifices in the fight for democracy and human rights in Kenya.
Speaking in Meru County during a graduation ceremony at the Meru University of Science and Technology, Mr. Ndegwa said Raila will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to justice, freedom, and equality for all Kenyans.
“Raila Odinga stood tall in defending human rights and promoting democracy. His life reminds us that leadership is about service and sacrifice,” said Ndegwa.

He further urged the graduating students to emulate the virtues of integrity, courage, and advocacy for societal good as they transition into various sectors of the economy.
Meru University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, echoed Ndegwa’s sentiments, calling on the graduates to uphold honesty and responsibility in their professional journeys, noting that integrity remains the foundation of true leadership.
As the nation prepares to lay Raila Odinga to rest, Ndegwa’s message adds to the chorus of tributes pouring in from across the country honoring a man many describe as the heartbeat of Kenya’s democratic struggle.
