Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has called on voters in Mbeere North Constituency to reject the rising wave of vengeful and insult-laden politics being advanced by opponents ahead of the upcoming by-election.

Prof. Kindiki maintained that the Mbeere North by-election is not a platform for political revenge but a decisive moment for residents to safeguard development and service delivery.

Addressing supporters on Sunday at Kivue while leading campaigns for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Leonard Wamuthende Leo, the Deputy President urged voters not to be duped into supporting leaders he said were driven by bitterness after losing their positions in government.

He insisted that the constituency cannot be used as a pawn by individuals pursuing personal political battles rather than the interests of the electorate.

Kindiki said some of the leaders now seeking sympathy from Mbeere North residents held powerful offices in the past including the office of Deputy President.but failed to rise to the responsibilities assigned to them.

The Deputy President told residents that it would be irrational for Mbeere North voters to abandon a functioning administration they elected in favour of what he termed an incompetent alternative.

He assured residents that the government remains committed to completing ongoing projects in the region and initiating new ones and that electing the UDA candidate would ensure continuity and effective representation.

According to him, the by-election provides an opportunity for the community to consolidate development gains rather than derail progress by supporting divisive politics.

Expressing confidence that Mr. Leo will clinch victory, Prof. Kindiki said the UDA candidate stands out because of his humility, clarity of agenda and focus on people-centered issues.

He contrasted Leo’s campaign with those of his competitors whom he accused of fixating on sideshows, personal vengeance and unnecessary confrontations.

He encouraged residents to elect leaders who demonstrate respect and sobriety, saying that the constituency requires steady leadership founded on unity and service delivery.

Prof. Kindiki also addressed criticism directed at him by political rivals, asserting that he occupies the office of Deputy President legitimately.

He dismissed those attacking him as individuals who not only failed the people during their earlier tenures but are now attempting to regain relevance through negative rhetoric.

The former Tharaka Nithi senator further said those throwing insults at him and the government have little to show for their time in leadership, stressing that their sudden interest in Mbeere North was motivated by desperation rather than genuine concern for the community.

He urged residents to evaluate leaders based on their record and commitment to development rather than political propaganda.
