Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has said that President William Ruto does not hate the Kikuyu community since he has given several key positions to them.
Ruku spoke at Full Gospel Church in Ntugi Church,Buuri constituency on Sunday.
He was accompanied by Buuri MP Mugambi Rindikiri and hisTaveta counterpart.
The CS revealed the government has so far initiated many road projects in Mount Kenya West including Kiambu, Nyeri, Muranga,Nyandarua and other counties than it has done in Mount Kenya East in Meru, Tharaka Nithi and Embu counties.
“77 percent of road projects have been build in Mount Kenya West under President Ruto while 23 percent have been build in Mount Kenya East.

He noted that in Meru already 284 kilometres of road have been build in Meru County while Tharaka Nithi and Embu have more than 200 in Embu.
“Am surprised that the government that is bringing such development and equity to our people is being told to go to the opposition,” Ruku wondered.
The CS instited that the former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government did not construct more than 100 kilometres in any of the three counties of Meru,Embu and Tharaka Nithi that are in Mount Kenya East.
He noted that top government officials from Mount Kenya including General of Defence Forces Muriu Kahariri,Inspector of police Douglas Kanja,Big Cabinet positions like Lands is under Alice Wahome,Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe,Tourism CS Rebecca Miano,ICT CS William Kabogo ,PS Energy CS Alex Wachira,Housing Ps Charles Hinga,Defence PS,PS Roads Joseph Mbugua, Correctional Services PS Salome Beacco, East African community and Arid Areas PS, and KRA Chairman among many parastatal heads.
“And despite all that we are being told President William Ruto hates Kikuyus. This is just because he appointed someone from Mount Kenya East who is Kithure Kindiki to be his Deputy. This is a seat Mount Kenya East had not occupied since independence,” Ruku said.

He told off Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua insisiting Rigathi ought to respect Kindiki and stop calling him names.
He said the PSs appointed in Mount Kenya East are few and do not occupy the key state department.
“We have PS for Forestry Gitonga Mugambi, and Cooperatives Kilemi Kiburi. This is just like bones yet Mount Kenya West has taken away all the stake. We have resolved for us to be respected as Mount Kenya East let the Mountain be split,” Ruku said.
He said Since independence it is the first time the Deputy President seat is from Mount Kenya East and they will not be duped to go to the opposition since they have a government that cares.
“It is just because of the deputy Presidency. That is why some people are telling us to go out of government. We will not accept that as Mount Kenya East. We are going to chart a way forward without our Kikuyu brothers,” Ruku said.
He said the council of elders coronated deputy President Kithure Kindiki and it is a clear indication that he will not be dropped as President William Ruto’s running mate.
He said both Mount Kenya East and Mount Kenya West fought for Independence together as MAU MAU and Mount Kenya should be allowed to at least enjoy the Deputy President seat now.
