President William Ruto has criticized the opposition leaders terming them clueless individuals with nothing to offer to Kenyans.

Ruto regretted that the opposition outfit has been complaining against how he makes several trips across the country launching development projects yet they have nothing to show for their time.

“I heard they are complaining that am touring the country regularly. I want to remind them that am a public servant and I must go round the country to initiate several projects,” Ruto said.

He said previous Presidents have been visiting few parts of the country while isolating others noting he does not need any permission from anybody to visit any part of the country.

“I am different and I have decided I will visit each and every part of Kenya without isolating any.I believe we should unite all Kenyans and deliver development projects. That’s is my mandate because am not a hereditary king. My mandate as a leader is to serve the people of Kenya,” President Ruto said.

“To change the country, we must double our efforts and I must lead from the front. If am a lazy person, the country will not progress,” President Ruto said.

He urged elected leaders to unite and work harmoniously in a bid to deliver on their own mandate.

President Ruto said that many opposition leaders have been in government but failed to deliver any meaningful projects to the people of Kenya.

“Some have been in politics for more than 50 years but they were lazy and wasted their time. They should leave me alone to work for the people of Kenya. If they failed during their tenure, why do they think they can now cheat Kenyans,”

President Ruto accused them of failing to provide alternative ways of solving problems facing Kenyans insisting they only concentrate on mudslinging his name.

“They have no agenda for Kenya. They don’t say how they will build schools or improve agriculture. There biggest achievement is nicknaming me ‘Kasongo”. They think rhetorics and noise will persuade the people of Kenya,” President Ruto said.

He said the government will fast track and complete national government projects including the Nithi bridge,Meru County referral, Maua stadium, 19 markets and the state lodge.

The President spoke on Sunday at Burieruri Boys school during the school’s celebration of 60 years since it was established

He was accompanied by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, several Meru MPs including Dan Kiili (Igembe Central) John Paul Mwirigi (Igembe South), Mpuru Aburi (Tigania East) Rahim Dawood (North Imenti) Moses Kirima (Imenti Centra) among others.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki said President William Ruto has put highest amount of money in the education budget since independence.

“This year the President has invested Sh.784 billion of the national budget in education. This just confirms to us that you regard education as a central pillar of our national development,” Kindiki said.

He said the President has also been consistent in reforming the education sector from the curriculum (CBE) to the employment of 100,000 teachers, increasing the education budget, building 23000 classrooms, reforms in the high education funding.

He said the reforms are meant to improve and make the education system competitive, relevant, accessible and affordable to as many children as possible.

He advised school children to resolve grievances through dialogue instead of resulting to acts of indispline since they will destroy their future.

Kindiki called on the Meru community to support Kenya Kwanza government in the coming polls.
