Nyaki West Member of Meru County Assembly Mubichi Kirima has urged leaders and people of goodwill to support vulnerable members of society as Christmas approaches.
Speaking when he visited the Wendo Widows Group in Nchaure, Nyaki West Ward where he donated food items as an early Christmas gift, Mubichi said Christmas is a time of sharing especially with venerable families financially struggling to celebrate.

During the visit, Mubichi donated flour and cooking oil to the widows, saying Christmas should be a time of sharing, compassion and inclusion.
He noted that many vulnerable families struggle to celebrate during the festive season and called on leaders and well-wishers to step in and ensure that widows, orphans and other disadvantaged groups are not left behind.
“I want to tell all the leaders from Meru and the entire country together with people of good will that this is the time to eat together with our parents, the widows, orphaned children and others who are less fortunate in the society,” said Mubichi.
The MCA said such gestures are not only about material support but also about restoring dignity and a sense of belonging among vulnerable groups.
He noted that community support plays a critical role in strengthening social bonds, especially during seasons associated with family and togetherness.

Mubichi also took the opportunity to pass Christmas greetings from Meru Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia, whom he described as a respectful and consultative leader.
He said leaders across the county appreciate the governor’s willingness to listen to residents and elected representatives, adding that this approach has helped create harmony and visible development across Meru County.
“ I bring the governor’s regards for Christmas because he is a good person who respects us ad listens to the concerns of the people. That is why we also respect him. We also respect him because his work is successful and we can now see developments,” said Mubichi.
He noted that the governor’s leadership has contributed significantly to peace and stability in the county, attributing this to unity, teamwork and regular consultation among leaders.
According to Mubichi, such cooperation has reduced political tension and allowed leaders to focus on service delivery and development priorities that directly benefit residents.

The MCA further praised Meru Deputy Governor Lindah Kiome, describing her as a supportive and unifying leader.
He said the deputy governor has consistently shown commitment to community outreach and unity whenever county leaders visit residents to offer assistance.
Mubichi noted that joint visits by leaders send a strong message of togetherness and strengthen public confidence in the county government.
He added that the Meru County Government is on the right path, stating that unity among leaders has been a key factor in the successful implementation of development projects.
According to Mubichi, working in unison has made it easier to plan, execute and complete projects, regardless of their scale.
Nonetheless, Mubichi urged residents to remain vigilant and responsible.
He appealed to drivers to exercise caution on the roads during the festive period, noting that increased travel often leads to a rise in road accidents.
He also called on parents and guardians to closely monitor their children during the school holidays in order to protect them from abuse and other risks.
“ During this time when people are traveling, I urge all the drivers to be careful so that we do not lose life. I also ask parents to take care of their children so that they are safe during the holidays,” said Mubichi.
Mubichi wished the residents a peaceful and joyful Christmas, encouraging them to embrace generosity, unity and care for one another as they celebrate the festive season.
