Meru County government staff have been directed to esnure effective delovery of services even as the new governor settles into office.
Chief of Staff Julius Mbijiwe said government operations will continue uninterrupted amid the transition following the inauguration of Governor Isaac Mutuma.
He gave the assurance while emphasizing that all departments remain fully functional.
Speaking after a meeting with department directors, whom he described as the driving forces in their respective areas, Mbijiwe reaffirmed the county’s commitment to service delivery.
Mbijiwe called on all county employees who have been absent for any reason to resume work immediately.
Additionally, he directed them to report to the Chief Officer for Public Service Administration and Legal Affairs Martin Gitije for deployment to their respective departments.
“The county government is working on proper deployment plans for all workers. I urge all staff to fully support Governor Mutuma, agenda of building Meru together,” Mbijiwe said.
He emphasized that collective efforts and teamwork are key to ensuring continued progress and development in the county.
Mbijiwe said the Governor had fast-tracked the payment of salaries and statutory deductions, noting that payments have been cleared up to January this year,
The remaining statutory deductions are in the process of being remitted.
He emphasized that health coverage is crucial for improving the well-being of all county residents.
The Chief of Staff announced that Governor Mutuma will soon launch a countywide market cleaning initiative.
“This programme aims to improve sanitation, improve the environment, and create healthier and more attractive living and working spaces for residents and businesses,” he said.
