The late former Prime Minister and longtime ODM leader Raila Odinga, will be laid to rest on Sunday hours after his passing, in accordance with his final wishes.
Raila, a towering figure in Kenyan politics for decades, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, while receiving treatment at Devamatha Hospital in Southern India .
His death sent shockwaves across the nation and beyond, drawing tributes from global leaders and millions of Kenyans who viewed him as a symbol of democracy, resilience and reform.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has released a detailed funeral programme outlining a series of public events across Nairobi, Kisumu, and Siaya counties leading up to the burial scheduled for Sunday, October 19, in Bondo, Siaya County.
