Kenyan music stars Nameless, Mejja, Breeder LW and Ssaru will headline a three-day entertainment programme at this year’s Safari Sevens, promising rugby fans a weekend of sport and music at Nyayo National Stadium.

The 28th edition of the tournament will run from Friday to Sunday, October 9 to 11, with Tusker bringing some of Kenya’s biggest music and entertainment names to the event as teams battle for honours in the prestigious rugby tournament.

The entertainment programme will kick off on Friday with DJs Confy and Grill setting the pace as fans begin arriving for the opening matches.

On Saturday, rapper Mejja and Breeder LW will take centre stage in what is expected to be one of the weekend’s biggest entertainment moments. They will be backed by DJs Most Wanted, Joe Mfalme, Incredible and Protégé.

Claudia Naisabwa and BM Shaxxy will serve as MCs, keeping fans engaged between the rugby action and performances.

The weekend will reach its entertainment climax on Sunday when veteran singer Nameless and Ssaru headline the closing-day programme.

They will be supported by DJs Tophaz, Kriss Darlin and Deweez, while Shema, Hype Ballo and MC BV Accurate will host the day’s activities as the tournament heads towards its conclusion.

The entertainment programme has been made possible by Tusker’s Sh14 million sponsorship of the Safari Sevens, which is aimed at enhancing the experience for fans attending the tournament.

“Safari Sevens is an important fixture on Kenya’s rugby calendar, and our sponsorship is about making the experience bigger and better for the fans who come out to support the sport,” said Keza Mpyisi, Tusker Sports Brand Manager.

“Through the Tusker Na Rugby platform, we are bringing together top rugby action and a strong entertainment line-up to give fans more reasons to be part of the weekend.”

Tusker’s sponsorship of Safari Sevens is part of its wider involvement in Kenyan rugby, including support for the National Sevens Circuit and the HSBC SVNS 2 event held in Nairobi.

The partnership comes as Safari Sevens returns for its 28th edition, combining competitive rugby with music and entertainment as organisers seek to attract fans to Nyayo National Stadium throughout the three-day tournament.
