DP party leader Justin Muturi has said that he is not ready for any talks with President William Ruto or any other leader asking for a political coalition formation.
He noted that Kenya is a multiparty democratic state, and it is enshrined in the constitution, also calling for respect to all political party supporters.
“Any Kenyan has a right to form or join any party. But when you form one, respect the other parties, as it is well guided in article 38 of the constitution,” he said.
He pointed out that despite having had entered into a coalition with President Ruto led Party, he fell out as the expectations were not met.
“I fell out with President Ruto because what was expected of him was not fulfilled and things did not go as expected. So we could no longer be together” said Muturi.
He added, “Don’t be fooled by anyone that I will have any talks or handshake with the President. The opportunity that I have now is to make sure he is out of the President’s seat”
The former CS Public Service also told off political leaders calling for one party for the Mt Kenya region.
“When we say that we have one party for Mt Kenya, it means that we dissolve all other parties. That will never happen” he stated.
Drumming support for his party, Muturi also noted that it is a centre of right conservative party.
“DP was started by our former President Mwai Kibaki. It is committed to fighting for justice and truth for the Nation. We also stand up for accountability,” he noted.
He spoke at the National Independent Church of Africa (NICA) Kaunjira, North Imenti during the opening ceremony of the new church.
