Igembe North MP Julius Taitumu has pledged to improve the education performance of the constituency by creating a conducive learning environment for all the education stakeholders.
Speaking at Naikuriu Senior School when he officially opened the school’s new dining hall moment after handing over a new bus, Taitumu said education remains the greatest investment a parent can bestow to their children and the future generation.
He promised to continue prioritizing the projects that enhance access, quality, and opportunity in all the learning institutions in the constituency.
“Today I officially handed over Bus Number 4 to Naikuriu Senior School. I also officially opened the school’s new dining hall. I sincerely thank the Head of Institution, the teaching staff, Board of Management, students, parents, non-teaching staff, and the entire Naikuriu community for their cooperation and support in making this day a success,” said the Igembe North MP.
Taitumu lauded his colleagues including Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi and nominated MP Dorothy Muthoni among other leaders for their unwavering support towards the education sector.
He termed their continued stand to transform the education sector in the constituency, county and country as a spark meant to revive the academic fortunes.
“Together, we are building a brighter future for the next generation. I urge all education stakeholders to ensure they invest in education in order to enable learners have a bright future,” noted the MP.
Before joining politics, Taitumu was a long serving KNUT official at local and national levels.
The lawmaker insisted that the Constituency Development Fund will continue prioritizing projects that remove barriers to learning opportunities.
The school board of management lauded Taitumu noting that the 67-seater bus will ease transport challenges during national exams, sports and academic trips.
They said the new dining hall will improve hygiene and accommodate the school’s growing population of over 800 students.
