A section of Meru political leaders have reaffirmed their support behind President William Ruto led government.
Led by Meru senator Kathuri Murungi, they said that their focus should be to follow-up on the agreement that was done between the Meru community and the Kenya Kwanza government.
“We voted for you (President Ruto) with an intention to improve our lives as a community. We supported and made an agreement with you on priorities of this region. That’s what we will follow up for fulfilment” said Kathuri.
He reiterated that Meru community should not leave the government for opposition, saying they have vowed to ensure Kenya Kwanza runs another tenure.
Buuri MP Mugambi Rindikiiri on his part assured President Ruto and his deputy Prof. Kithure Kindiki that Meru leaders don’t regret throwing their weight behind them.
He hailed the duo over their leadership, urging them to put a deaf ear on their distractors.
“Keep your eyes on the ball and don’t listen to the distractors of development. Just focus on growing the economy in this region through your support programs” said the Meru MPs caucus chairman.

In his statement, North Imenti MP Rahim Dawood told off President Ruto critics, calling on them to stop spreading propaganda.
“It is laughable to see some politicians criticizing the government without facts. Sh. 100 million meant for the Meru Dairy Union that they say has not been delivered as promised is pure lies. The CEO has confirmed receipt, so let’s not be fooled” observed Rahim.
On his part, Tigania West MP Dr John Mutunga called on the President not to engage in early politics, but instead focus on development to Kenyans.
Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi expressed their commitment in serving citizens, saying that leaders should be judged on their development track record.
“We called on these citizens to vote for us so that we can deliver services to them. Let us not be cowed by anyone because we shall be judged by our work record” he said.
Similar sentiments were shared by South Imenti MP Dr Shadrack Mwiti, Kirima Nguchine from Central Imenti and nominated MP Dorothy Muthoni.
