Meru County Health Management Team (CHMT) is set to push for a review of the current performance of the health sector and set new targets to drive progress.
In a consultative meeting led by health services acting Chief officer Dr. Koome Muthuri, the team adopted a new concept of support supervision where CHMT members will conduct periodic visits to sub-counties.

“This approach is expected to strengthen monitoring and evaluation, enhance mentorship, and improve overall service delivery. Teams were constituted to oversee various sub-counties ensuring effective implementation of health initiatives and improved outcomes,” said Dr Koome.
During the meeting, MoU signing, digitalization, ongoing projects and strategic management reviews were made with an emphasis on the importance of leveraging technology to improve healthcare services and streamline operations.
Dr Koome also noted that, “The government has set key thematic areas for the coming year, to be implemented through various Rapid Response Initiatives (RRI). This approach will enable swift responses to emerging health issues and help close existing service delivery gaps”.
Also in attendance were Ag. Director of Health Services Dr. Titus Mutura, Ag. Director of Finance and Planning CPA Miriam Karimi, and Ag. Director of Health Administration Moses Baiyenia, among other health officials.
