The Meru County government has officially sworn in five members of the Public Service Board selection committee, marking a significant step towards strengthening the county’s human resource management.
Meru governor Mutuma M’Ethingia who presided over the event said that, the occasion is meant for transformation strategy on public service.
He called on the panel to ensure that they perform their duties in a humane manner and within the timelines given.
“Yours might be a short term exercise, but the PSCB term will be six years. We expect honest, competent and professionals who will help us have the best work force in the County . May you conduct a transparent recruitment guided by the constitution” said governor Mutuma.

Deputy governor Ms Linda Kiome celebrated the panel, saying that the governor has given the best decision in bringing up the team.
“The same trust and diligence that the governor has given you, it is solely a burden to you to bring us the best so as to take this county to a higher level” said DG.
She further urged the committee to embrace the constitution in its mandate.
The committee brings together a combination of wealth of experience and professionalism aimed at ensuring that there is a competent board that is expected to serve with diligence.

Lewis Mwirigi has now assumed the position of chairman of the committee.
Accepting the appointment, Mwirigi expressed his gratitude, saying that he will strive to deliver the team that will help in running the county.
“I assure the governor that we will be committed to give a competent team that will be of great service to the community” he said.
Member after another, promised that they will serve with diligence bearing in mind that the PSCB is the engine of service delivery.
They also noted that they will ensure they will play a fair role in ensuring that the selected board will help in addressing the challenge of joblessness in the county.
Other members include Dr Benjamin Kaanake, Hosea Mutembei, Ann Kinya Nyomoo and Mercy Kiambati who also promised to ensure there is regional balancing in jobs opportunities.
