Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) deputy party leader Cleophas Malala has said President William Ruto is not genuine in his calls to compensate victims of violence demonstrations.

President William Ruto on Friday through a proclamation shared on Friday established a special coordinating framework to compensate victims of violence demonstrations  and public protests that have occurred since 2017.

Professor Makau Mutua will lead the initiative which has 120 days to complete it’s work.

The former Kakamega senator said President Ruto is playing a political gimmick and theatrics with the compensation.

Malala said Ruto wants to give families of people who lost their loved ones money so that they fail to testify.

Currently United States’ of America is investigating Kenya as it considers withdrawing the country from being a major NATO ally because of alleged violation of human rights such as extra judicial killings and abductions.

Malala urged families of those who lost their loved ones not to accept government compensation as it should come with justice because those who killed should be arrested and arraigned in court of law.

“I want to tell the families that there is no human who can compensate you. It’s only God who can do that. I know families are going through a lot for losing their loved ones who some were bread Winners,” Malala said.

He went on to poke holes in the compensation committees saying it should not consist of anyone from the government.

Malala spoke in Kambiti Primary school,North Imenti where he attended a fundraiser.

He also warned Gen Z to be cautious and not attend CONCLAVE dialogue as they will also be profiled.

Malala also poked holes in the empowerment program by the government saying Kenyans should not accept tokenism and instead ask for development.

He said Kenyans should ask themselves where the empowerment money is coming from.

“Which ministry? which budget? and what is the criteria used to identify beneficiaries?,” Malala posed.

He was accompanied by Former agriculture CS Mithika Linturi North Imenti MP Aspirant Carol Muriuki.
