Kabras RFC claimed the 2026 Dala Sevens title after defeating Menengai Oilers 17-5 in the final at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo, capping an action-packed weekend of rugby and entertainment in Kisumu.
The victory saw Kabras emerge champions of the second leg of the National Sevens Circuit after producing a disciplined second-half performance in the much-anticipated “Rai Derby.”

Both teams started strongly, creating scoring opportunities in an evenly contested opening half before Kabras took control after the break to seal a comfortable victory.
Mwamba RFC secured third place after edging Kenya Harlequin 27-22 in a sudden-death bronze playoff.
Away from the pitch, Kenya Breweries, through its Tusker brand, injected life into the tournament with a KSh1.5 million sponsorship that supported the event and transformed the entertainment village into a major attraction for rugby fans.
The sponsorship also facilitated the official Tusker after-parties, blending rugby with live music and fan experiences throughout the two-day tournament.
Tusker Sports Brand Manager Keza Mpyisi said the company’s focus was to enhance the fan experience while supporting the growth of Kenyan rugby.
“We are delighted with how the Dala Sevens weekend came together. The rugby has been exciting, but what stood out most was the energy and enthusiasm of the fans. That is exactly what Tusker Na Rugby is about—celebrating the game, the fans and the communities that make rugby special,” Mpyisi said.

Musicians Bensoul and Kisumu-based Ohangla star Odongo Swagg headlined the after-parties on Saturday and Sunday respectively, entertaining thousands of fans after the day’s matches.
The festivities received an additional boost when singer Costa Ojwang made a surprise appearance, while DJs Hype Ballo, Ves, Teargas, Daqchild, Festa and Dimore kept the crowd entertained throughout the weekend.
The Dala Sevens formed the second stop of the 2026 National Sevens Circuit following the Prinsloo Sevens.
The circuit now moves to Nairobi for the Kabeberi Sevens on August 15-16 before heading to the Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa on August 22-23, Embu Sevens on September 5-6 and concluding with the Christie Sevens in Nairobi on September 12-13.
