Igembe North MP Julius Taitumu has strongly hit out at his predecessors accusing them of under performing during their tenure.
The lawmaker accused them of initiating “useless’ projects which were not beneficial to the residents noting that such projects only wasted taxpayers money.
Speaking during a development tour of the constituency, Taitumu criticised his predecessors of presiding over the stalling of important projects in the area.
Maoka Maore is the immediate former Igembe North MP. Previously the constituency was represented in Parliament by Joseph M’ Eruaki.
“Am disappointed that my predecessors left incomplete projects during their tenure. Some of the projects were useless and ended up wasting the taxpayer’s money.

For example, the fish ponds by Joseph M’Eruaki which were never functional, incomplete Laare police station, incomplete DEO’s office, Mutuati social hall and substandard classes,” said MP Taitumu.
The MP regretted that despite Maore being in active politics for several years, he left no development or tangible impact to the people.
He accused the duo of discrimination when issuing bursary funds with very few connected people benefiting.
“Currently all day schools are receiving Sh 3000 while those in arid and semi arid areas are getting Sh 4000. My predecessors used discrimination to give bursaries.
During my first year in parliament, 90 teachers were employed. More than 800 students are getting university bursaries. Originally less than 200 accessed university,” said Taitumu.
He said he has a vision and focus for the constituents unless his predecessors.

The lawmaker promised to always give priority to development and residents welfare during his tenure.
“l will streamline education in the area since I have experience after serving as a teacher for a long time. School performance has improved tremendously with many taking over 30 students to the university. Previously, a few candidates qualified for university entry,” said MP Taitumu.
