Meru governor Isaac Mutuma has highlighted the landmark achievements his administration had attained since he took over power from his predecessor.

The governor said Meru County is set to witness unprecedented transformation in the sector and called on all the stakeholders in the area to fully support the initiative.

Speaking at the County headquarters, he said his administration will preside over the construction of a mini city at Mariene university campus at a cost of KSh 5.6 billion.

“It will transform the region positively both economically and socially. Approximately KSh 5.6 billion will be used to complete the project featuring malls, supermarket and modern amenities at Mariene University Campus in Abogeta Constituency. The project was advertised before being awarded to a contractor,” said Governor Mutuma.

He said during his reign, Tharaka University launched a pioneer university campus in Tigania East constituency recently.

He noted that the project will spur growth in the locality by uplifting the living standards of the residents and neighbours.

“Chuka University is also spearheading the establishment of Kiegoi university campus in Igembe south constituency. I have already given the greenlight for establishment of a branch of Catholic University Campus within the county,” said Governor Mutuma.

He called on all the education stakeholders in the region to unite and ensure they work harmoniously in a bid to attain the set goals in the education sector.
