Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has called on political leaders across the country to abandon divisive politics and embrace unity to safeguard Kenya’s peace and accelerate development.

Speaking on Sunday 16th 2025 during a church service at the ACK Diocese in Kapsabet, Nandi County, the DP urged leaders to restrain from careless political talk that would divide the nation.

He added that political rhetorics would undermine the stability Kenyans have worked hard to build and slow developments.

Addressing faithful Kindiki emphasized that the country’s progress depends on a political culture rooted in tolerance and mutual respect.

He cautioned leaders against fueling tribal animosity, noting that inflammatory language has historically destabilized the nation and derailed development agendas.

The DP reiterated that such political storms only distract from the administration’s focus on delivering development to all corners of Kenya.

He underscored that the Kenya Kwanza government remains committed to its mandate of improving the country’s infrastructure, revamping essential services and championing economic reforms that uplift millions of citizens.

According to Kindiki, unity at the leadership level is fundamental to ensuring these programmes reach the people without disruption.

The former Interior Cabinet secretary outlined several ongoing government initiatives aimed at transforming livelihoods in Nandi County and beyond.

He highlighted major developments in roads, electricity , markets and infrastructure, noting that these projects are essential to boosting local economies and enhancing access to opportunities.

Kindiki also addressed growing public concern over low tea bonuses in tea-growing regions such as Nandi, Kericho, and parts of the Rift Valley saying that President has entrusted him with overseeing agricultural reforms including finding a lasting solution to challenges affecting tea farmers.

The DP acknowledged that tea farmers have faced fluctuating earnings due to global market dynamics and inefficiencies within the value chain.

He said the planned consultations with regional leaders and stakeholders will aim to streamline the sector, increase farmers’ earnings and stabilize the industry as a key pillar of the national economy.

Kindiki’s visit to Nandi was part of his broader effort to engage local communities, reinforce the national development agenda and rally leaders to prioritize service delivery over political competition.
