Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has strongly condemned the killing of the slain teacher and blogger Albert Ojwang and called for the immediate investigations and arrest of the culprits.
Speaking today during an Empowerment Engagement for Micro and Small Scale traders and Saccos at Kasikeu Secondary School in Kasikeu area, Kilome Constituency, Kindiki assured Kenyans that due process will be followed in seeking justice for the victim.
He said the government security agencies will work day and night to unearth the killers and their motives.
The DP however cautioned Kenyans and leaders to stop politicizing the incident and wait for the wheels of Justice to take its course
“There must be individual criminal responsibility for the person who was involved in the killing of the slain teacher. If there was anyone who sent or ordered the killers to commit the crime, whoever they are irrespective of their status , they must face the law,”said the DP.
The DP reiterated that the country can not be allowed to degenerate to lawlessness thus destabilizing the peace of citizens.

” The killer must be brought to book. The government doesn’t condone extra judicial killings or torturing of citizens” said Kindiki.
On Wednesday Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja retracted his earlier statement that social media influencer and teacher Albert Ojwang’ died after hitting his head against a wall.
He has since issued a public apology to the nation.
Appearing before the Senate on June 11, Kanja admitted that his initial claim was based solely on a report from officers at Central police station, but he no longer stands by it.
“Based on the report we have now received from IPOA, it is not true that he hit his head against the wall. That was the initial report we were given from the beginning,” Kanja told the Senate.
