Kenya Ambassador to Netherlands Ms Halima Mucheke has lauded President William Ruto for undertaking to renovate properties in foreign embassies terming the move as exemplary.
She said the initiative reaffirms President Ruto commitment to development both in the country and abroad.
The envoy said the renovation will restore the functionality of the embassies, dignity and the country image.

She said the renovation is a departure from the past where the the properties were allowed to deteriorate.
She applauded the government for giving priority to the welfare of the foreign embassies.
“The President’s commitment to development extends beyond our borders. While significant progress continues at home, equal attention is being given to the state of our government facilities abroad. For many years, official residences and offices were allowed to deteriorate, diminishing both functionality and the image of our country,” said Ambassador Mucheke in a Facebook post.
She termed the ongoing renovation as leadership stewardship meant to preserve, maintain and modernise public assets to effectively serve their intended purposes with dignity.

Mucheke said the ongoing exercise is apolitical and none partisan.
“The ongoing renovations are not about politics; they are about stewardship. Public assets must be preserved, maintained, and modernized to serve their intended purpose efficiently and with dignity. This is a responsibility of leadership, not a matter of partisan preference,” said Mucheke.
She said in any democracy, differing views are expected and respected but maintained that it is important for the national initiatives to be assessed fairly and in context.
“Strengthening institutions and restoring government property are investments in the long-term interests of the nation,” she noted.
