Kenya’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, Halima Mucheke, has emphasized the need for equal and sustainable partnerships between Africa and the Netherlands following a high-level engagement with Dutch officials and African envoys.
Amb. Mucheke noted that she held a constructive engagement between the Dutch Minister of Trade and the African Diplomatic Corps geared towards strengthening Africa–Netherlands cooperation in trade, water management, agriculture, logistics and innovation.

“Our discussions focused on building equal partnerships anchored on sustainable investment, technology transfer, industrialisation, job creation and climate adaptation,” said Ambassador Mucheke.
She added,
“The meeting also reaffirmed Africa’s growing global importance through its youthful population, entrepreneurial energy and the opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)..”

She lauded the Netherlands’ continued engagement and support while working together in a bid to ensure shared prosperity and sustainable development.
The meeting comes as the Netherlands continues to expand cooperation with African states under its trade and climate agenda, while AfCFTA is expected to create the world’s largest free trade area by population and GDP.

Stakeholders unanimously agreed that stronger ties in water management and agricultural technology will be key to unlocking climate resilience and industrial growth across the continent.
