The Director of Protocol in the Office of the Deputy President Gideon Kimathi has called for unity and support for the government when he visited several churches in Meru County to deliver goodwill messages during the Christmas festival.
Among the churches he visited were Gitooro Catholic Church and Generation of Faith Ministries, Ruiri.

At Generation of Faith Ministries, the visit coincided with a celebration marking the graduation of Rev. Richel Kaberia, wife to the church’s bishop, who attained a degree in Counselling and Theology.
Speaking to the congregation, Kimathi said the people of Meru have much to be thankful for during the festive season, noting that one of their own has risen to the highest levels of national leadership.
“As Meru people celebrate this Christmas season, we have something special to thank God for, because one of our sons Prof Kithure Kindiki is the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya,” Kimathi said.
He urged residents to support the current administration, saying cooperation with the government was essential for development and inclusion.
“Supporting the government of the day is the shortest way to be in government and to remain in government,” he added.

Kimathi also emphasized the importance of unity and goodwill among citizens, calling on people to support those who have been given opportunities in life rather than harboring jealousy.
“When someone among us is elevated, we should support them instead of pulling them down. Their success benefits the entire community,” he said.
Church–Government Partnership
Bishop Naji Ali from Isiolo, who was also present, said the church believes in working closely with the government for the good of the nation.
“The church supports the government of the day, and we believe both the church and government should work hand in hand,” Bishop Ali said. “That is why we support President William Samoei Ruto and his Deputy, Prof. Kithure Kindiki.”

Support from the Congregation
A church member, Titus Mururu Chokera, expressed strong support for the administration, saying the people of Meru appreciate the recognition given to the region through the appointment of Kindiki as Deputy President.
“We are ready to stand with this government that recognized and picked the son of Meru, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, as Deputy President,” Chokera said. “We will stand with the government and defend it.”
