Restaurant chain Java House has opened a new branch in Meru town as it seeks to cement its presence in the Upper Eastern region.
The Meru outlet is its 86th branch and is located on the ground floor of the Greenwood City mall.
Ms Priscilla Gathungu, Group CEO Java House Africa, said opening of the outlet is part of the brand’s ambition to reach a wider audience with the Java coffee experience.
“Meru is a potential region and we have always wished to establish ourselves here. This is a dream come true and we welcome our guests to sample, enjoy and experience the full Halal-compliant menu. Java House is famous for coffee and other retail items in its range including the online convenience deliveries,” added Ms Gathungu.

She further lauded the Kenyan coffee as one of the best in Africa noting that the company sources 98 percent of coffee produce from the country.
“We have the best coffee and that is why we encourage our farmers to continue with their good work in the farms. In fact Java House buys coffee from Kenya and very little from Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia,” she said.
At the same time, Ms Gathungu said the restaurant will participate in boosting the economy of the region by supporting famers though buying produce like fruits, vegetables and potatoes among others.

While announcing that they are targeting to open more branches in Northern Kenya soon, the CEO pointed out that the brand is a source of livelihood to more than 2,000 youths across their outlets in Kenya.
“We are not only a business partner but also by opening new branches we create employment especially to the youths in that area,” Ms Gathungu said.
She was accompanied by the company board chairman Mr Patrick Obath and Ms Jane Nkatha, director Greenwood City Mall.
