Hundreds of Football fans, players, football officials among other dignitaries were forced to scamper for safety after police fired teargas canisters to disperse football fans at Kinoru Stadium on Sunday.

The match between Ulinzi and AFC Leorpard ended dramatically after fans stormed the field after the final whistle and threw objects.

Ulinzi were leading 2-0 after two quick second half goals in a span of 20 minutes thanks to goals from Boniface Muchiri and Yakeen Mutheli.

AFC fans whose team was trailing started the mayhem by throwing seats and at one point wanted to clobber their coach Tomas Trucha citing a series of poor results.

The Wounded Leopards lost 1-0 to Muranga Seals last week and drew 1-1 with Kariobangi Sharks.

Similar incidences were witnessed in Machakos where defending champions Gor Mahia threw away their two goal lead to draw 2-2 with Muranga Seal.

The two incidences have left football fans and officials worried.

In September a section of Shabana fans were involved in an incident of hooliganism that saw them vandalize parts of Ulinzi Complex after an FKF Premier League clash where the teams drew 2-2.

Edward Muriki, a football fan from Meru said FKF should take stern action against teams whose football fans cause such mayhem.

“To avoid such incidences in future, football officials should ban fans of football teams who cause mayhem and impose heavy fines on their teams as an example,” Muriki.

It remains to be seen what action FKF willtake on AFC and Gor Mahia after the two incidences.
