Political activist Mike Makarina has appealed to President William Ruto and his Deputy Kithure Kindiki to make a development tour of Central and eastern regions to quell descending voices.

The region has been expressing dissatisfaction since the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

President Ruto has visited the region once since the removal of Gachagua with pundits blaming the move on political backlash from the impeachment.

“We no longer have the rift between Uhuru and Ruto that was witnessed during the campaign period. I urge President Ruto and DP Kindiki to visit the region to listen to the issues affecting the voters. I am happy Mt Kenya region is intact,” he said.

The politician scoffed at Gachagua over his separatist politics in Mt Kenya region, arguing that he was keen on stalling development.

Makarina hit out at Gachagua saying he was sent home because he failed to deliver on the government policies.

“I plead with Mt Kenya people to support Kindiki. Kindiki has bridged the gap between former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga and President Ruto. Gachagua should not lie that the region is out of government. It is time we unite and support the government,” Makarina said.

Makarina expressed confidence that the New Year will come with more development across the country.

He also called on the government to put an end to abductions of the administration’s critics.

“With Kindiki, I am confident this government will deliver on its pledges,” Makarina said during a rally at Kibiruini stadium in Nyeri County.

He said he would work with like-minded leaders in holding meetings across the country to listen to Wananchi and bring people together to discuss issues and listen to their leaders.
