The Principal Secretary for Correctional Services Ms. Esther Ngero has resigned a week after her new reassignment.

Ms. Ngero’s resignation comes a week after she was transferred from the state department for Performance and Delivery Management in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to the State Department for Correctional Services within the Ministry of Interior & National Administration.

In a statement released by chief of staff and head of public service Felix K. Koskei on Tuesday,  the outgoing Principal secretary indicated that she left the office for personal reasons.

“In her time in office, Ngero has been instrumental in establishing the institutional framework to support the implementation of Public Service Performance Management and Monitoring for Ministries, State Departments, and state Agencies (MDAs),”  reads a statement.

Ngero, a certified accountant by training, joined the ranks of Principal Secretaries in December 2022 after an almost two-decades’ career in the petroleum sector.
