Tharaka Nithi residents are mourning former women Rep Beatrice Nkatha who passed on last week after an illness.
Nkatha was the first Tharaka Nithi women Rep and she served from 2013 to 2022.
She died at Kiirua hospital, Meru county on 18th October where she was admitted.
Leaders and residents described Nkatha as a humble hard working and philanthropic leader.
Tharaka Nithi governor Muthomi Njuki said “am saddened to learn of the demise of Hon. Beatrice Nkatha Nyaga HSC. who was the first Tharaka Nithi County Member of Parliament.
Beatrice served our great County with admirable grace and diligence; she will be fondly remembered for her impactful contributions, specifically among women in positions of leadership.
“We stand with her family, friends and loved ones during this trying time May her soul rest in eternal peace,” Njuki said on his Facebook page.
Tharaka MP Gitonga Murugara on his Facebook page eulogised the late former Tharaka-Nithi Woman Rep Beatrice Nkatha as a non-controversial who served the county with distinction.
His Maara counterpart Kareke Mbiuki said Nkatha was a dedicated leader whose service to the county and country would be remembered.
Kagendo Miriti a resident of Tharaka Nithi said Nkatha did all she could to uplift the lives of residents especially women.
“She will be remembered for uplifting women groups.she gave a lot of women dairy goats which are helping up to today,” Kagendo said.
Youths from Chuka/Igambang’ombe sub county, where she hails from, said they will remember her for giving them funds to uplift youth groups.
