National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has condoled with the family of the late Senator William Cheptumo at their Karen home, assuring them of Parliament’s support during this difficult time.
Speaker Wetang’ula expressed deep sorrow over the senator’s passing, noting that his contribution to the country and Parliament would be greatly missed.

“As Parliament and as the people of Kenya, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. We will miss him dearly, but we take solace in the fact that God has called him at His appointed time,” he said.
The Speaker further announced that on March 1, a parliamentary delegation would travel to Baringo County for Senator Cheptumo’s final send-off in his home village, affirming that Parliament would stand in solidarity with his family.
The late Senator Cheptumo passed away on February 16, 2025, while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
