Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has issued stern warning to non performing leaders across the country challenging  them to account for their development progress ahead of 2027.

Speaking today in Zombe, Kitui East, Kindiki urged leaders to showcase tangible development before their terms end or else see the door.

“All of us who have  been moving across the country have held leadership positions. It’s time to show what we have achieved or else you will face the people’s judgement ” he said, 

He emphasized  that leadership is  about delivering results, not political rhetoric noting that now the government has enough funds to initiate new and accomplish stalled  developments projects before  the end of the first tenure.

While calling for  unity and stability, Kindiki  urged Kenyans to reject divisive politics and embrace peaceful competition as the country moves forward.

Addressing locals, Kindiki emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to transforming Kenya through peace, development, and truth-driven leadership.

“Politics should be a competition, not a fight. It must never breed enmity among citizens since we only have one Kenya,’ said the DP

Kindiki warned Kenyans not to be swayed by what he described as the “politics of deceit and conmanship” noting that some politicians thrive on creating anxiety in the public 

He assured citizens that the government remains alert and fully committed to safeguarding peace and national stability as one of the core agenda .

 “Everyone has the freedom to lead, but not by threatening the peace of this country,” he added 

He further said the government is working hard to bring down the cost of living pointing out at the recent drop of unga  to as low as KSh 140.

“We reduced the price of fertilizer from KSh 7,000 to KSh 2,500 to support our farmers. Now we’re seeing the results in our food prices,” he added.

Kindiki said the government is focused on essential commodities including petrol, once at KSh 217 per litre, now retails at KSh 174, and milk prices, though higher at KSh 50 per packet a deliberate shift aimed at strengthening agricultural incomes.

He also added that government has set aside kSh 2 billion for electricity program under the Last Mile Connectivity Project set to connect 18,000 homes.

The second in command also announced the construction of  Zombe–Kyuluni Road and an KSh 800 million compensation plan for those affected by the Kibwezi–Mutomo–Kitui Road construction project .
