Prof Henry Mutembei M’Ikiugu has been appointed the new Vice Chancellor Chuka university after the exit of Prof. Erastus Njoka.
The founder and outgoing VC Prof Erastus Njoka who left the University handed over Chuka University instruments of power to Ag. VC Prof. Dorcas Isutsa on 1st March 2022, to try his luck in the TharakaNithi gubernatorial seat.
The new VC who is a Professor of Veterinary Reproduction and Obstetrics (Theriogenology) at University of Nairobi has also been on a five-year appointment contract as the Deputy Vice Chancellor at Chuka University in charge of Administration Division (Administration, Finance, Planning and Development).
When he joined, Chuka University was a young and rapidly developing institution with the aspiration to have an administration that maintained and steered shaping of positive newer frontiers of transformation.
As the DVC (AFPD), he expressed commitment to chaperon transformation pegged on a five-point agenda among them, Financial saving, Human resource optimization, Program/ Development prioritization, Justified Appointment Contract performance, and Transparent data-based institutional decisions.

Prof Njoka has steered the university into what it is today, transforming Chuka University into a world class institution within a span of 15 years.
“During my tenure we ensured that there was proper management and utilization of resources and we were not indebted to any institution. My policy was that we should have zero tolerance to mismanagement of finances,” Prof Njoka said in an earlier interview.
