Preparations for the 2025 Meru National Show are complete, with the event scheduled from May 28-31 at the Gitoro Showground.
Speaking during an exhibitors breakfast meeting, the show chairman Ngentu Mwithimbu said they also have a planned road map for the four day event.
“The show will feature a wide range of exhibits, showcasing agriculture, manufacturing, and other sectors. This year’s event will provide a platform for knowledge exchange through exhibits, workshops, and training sessions, focusing on empowering farmers and stakeholders” said Mwithimbu.
Eric Akulo the branch manager noted that they are in the race to promote and sustain smart agriculture.
“There will be exhibition on trade and sustainable agriculture. We urge our community to come out in large numbers to learn from all sectors” he said.
He noted that there is a need to embrace environment conservation in a bid to help fight climate change.
Meru County director of agriculture Martin Munene observed that 80 percent of the Meru community depend on agriculture, calling on farmers to embrace new technology and innovation in agriculture.
“The ASK show is an opportunity for farmers to learn more. The exhibitors will empower farmers with knowledge on how to better their farming and increase crop production” said Munene.
