Prominent Meru Counsel Kiogora Mugambi has urged Muslims to share whatever little they have with family, friends, neighbours and other residents.
He spoke on Friday during Eid Al Adha celebrations at his rural home in Gikumene.
He gave out goat meat biriani,pilau and drinks to hundreds of residents.
The Meru based lawyer who is known for his philanthropic gestures during Muslim festivities said he had been giving out food to residents for the past ten years.
“I have been cooking pilau, biriani and other delicacies and sharing with residents for a decade now. I urge other Muslims and all Kenyans in general to be sharing with others and especially the less fortunate. Those are teachings of the Koran,” Kiogora said.
Kiogora had slaughtered a number of goats and bulls for preparing the coastal recipe that leaves residents asking for more as it’s cooking is yummy.
The lawyer said he even distributes the food to police officers and prisoners at Meru Prison.
He introduced take away during COVID 19 where he also takes food to other North Imenti residents who fail to show up at his home because of limited space.
Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen gazetted Friday as a public Holiday.
In Meru, Muslims celebrated the public holiday especially in Mjini and Majengo by conducting prayers at Mosques before going to their homes to enjoy goat meat,pilau,biriani and other delicacies.
Kiogora had invited professionals including his fellow lawyers, journalists, national government and administration officers (NGAO) who are mostly Christian’s.
