The Micro and Small Enterprise Authority (MSEA), has supported community groups with essential tools and equipment to help start and grow their businesses.
The beneficiaries including youth groups, women cooperatives, and local artisans received tools, as well as guidance on business registration, value addition, and access to markets.
The event, was presided by MSEA CEO Rithaa Mwenda.
Speaking at the event, Youth affairs, Sports, Gender and social Development CECM Elias Murega welcomed the initiative, stating that the County Government of Meru is fully committed to creating a conducive environment for development partners to invest and empower local communities.
He further encouraged the youth in Meru to organize themselves into registered groups, noting that this will open doors to more opportunities from other partners likely to collaborate with the county in the near future.
Mwenda reaffirmed MSEA’s mission, saying,”We are laying the foundation for self-reliance and economic transformation, one group at a time.”
He said by equipping businesses with the right tools, MSEA can help them grow, create jobs, and contribute to the overall economic development of Meru.
