The Meru county assembly has called on President William Ruto to form Meru metropolitan services to see harmony in service deliveries.

Led by the deputy speaker Mwenda Ali and minority leader Mwenda Ithili, the MCAs have said that failure to urgent action, they will initiate another impeachment motion against governor Kawira Mwangaza.

“Time is gone when leaders were coerced to support ideologies of the governor. We are ready to send her back to the senate over the same issues that she was rescued from. She is a symbol of Meru unity and she must not divide the community” said the deputy speaker.

The leaders have also cried fowl over allegations of discrimination in development projects at the ward level.

“Our people have suffered inequalities over the period that the governor took charge. We are also opposed to division on a subtribal basis as it is being orchestrated by governor Mwangaza”, said Zipporah Kiambi nominated MCA.

The county legislators have also threatened to remove from office the county secretary Dr Kiambi Atheru over what they term as irregularities and misuse of office.

“The county secretary seems to have taken over the government. He should not be fighting the County Public Service Board on ethnic basis. We read malice in all that is happening to the board” said Ali.

They have also condemned the county administration wrangles that are being witnessed, citing that the move could handicap development programs.

“The Deputy governor and County employees deserve respect from the governor. We demand that they all be allowed to deliver their services without disruptions from the governor and her allies” said Ali.
