Manchester United’s quest for their first summer signing continues.
Personal terms have been agreed with Mason Mount but a fee is yet to be reached with Chelsea for the midfielder. Erik Ten Hag has held talks with Rasmus Hojlund but United don’t appear to have made a move as of yet.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Jassim has submitted an improved fifth bid for Manchester United, the PA news agency reports.
The club announced in November that the board was exploring strategic alternatives to enhance the club’s growth, with a full sale one option being considered.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim both publicly confirmed initial offers in February and the latter is understood to have this week made a fifth bid to acquire United.
West Ham confirm Rice exit this summer
Declan Rice will leave West Ham this summer, chairman David Sullivan has confirmed.
The England star has been linked with a potential switch to Manchester United with Rice intent on leaving the London Stadium this summer. Erik ten Hag is searching for a midfielder and personal terms have been agreed with Mason Mount.
The West Ham captain lifted the Europa Conference League in Prague on Wednesday following a 2-1 win over Fiorentina. He gave little away about his future plans when speaking to the media post-match, but now Sullivan has lifted the lid on his situation.

The midfielder became the first West Ham captain to lift European silverware in 58 years on Wednesday as the Hammers beat Fiorentina 2-1 in the Europa Conference League final.

Fish wanted by Hibernian
Hibernian are plotting to re-sign United youngster Will Fish in the summer transfer window.
Fish signed a long-term contract at Old Trafford last year to keep him at the club until the summer of 2025, with the option of another year. The 20-year-old is a Manchester-born academy product and he’s captained England up to U19 level.
The centre-back spent the season on loan with Hibernian in Scotland and he made 22 appearances across the campaign.
