Kenya has taken center stage at Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai in Japan with a bold pavilion led by the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA).
Under the powerful theme “Kenya Rising from the Bottom Up”, the East African nation is showcasing its vibrant culture, groundbreaking innovations and sustainable development in the world.
Held at Yumeshima Island and featuring over 160 global participants, the Expo opened on April 12, marking six months of collaboration, creativity, and discovery under the banner “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”
Kenya’s pavilion is a living experience with interactive zones like, engage Kenya music, culture and Sample Bar Kenya offering world-renowned tea coffee.
In the show case, Kenya is fast becoming a model for sustainable inclusive growth through various exhibits on geothermal energy.
Floice Mukabana Commissioner General for Kenya’s section and CEO of KEPROBA said the upcoming highlights include Kenya-Japan High-Level Business Forum and much-anticipated Kenya Week featuring elite athletes and cultural showcase.
“Kenya is proving African ingenuity holds key to global solutions from renewable energy to digital finance at Expo 2025,” said Mukabana.
The forum aims to strengthen economic ties and highlight key sectors such as renewable energy, trade , tourism, technology and cultural performances.
Running from June 22 to 25, Kenya Week will celebrate the nation’s culture and global diaspora through a series of events including a mini-marathon featuring elite Kenyan athletes, a National Day of Honour, and a Diaspora Networking Dinner.
These initiatives reflect Kenya’s commitment to its Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda, which champions grassroots development and international collaboration. T
