Former Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza has said she is crafting a new political party that she will use to reclaim her seat in 2027.

The former governor said the party will also field aspirants in other seats like senator,MPs and MCAs across Mount Kenya East counties of Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi,Kirinyaga and Isiolo counties.

“We might even think of fielding a presidential candidate if we see it necessary,” Mwangaza said.

The former Meru governor said she was sure the party will get at least 45 MCAs in the Meru county assembly that will be its stronghold.

She spoke during an interview to Meru vernacular stations at her home in Kamuketha,Buuri constituency.

The former Meru Women Representative said in order to get proper bargaining power for Meru, she saw the need to craft her own party.

On the recent move by former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi to join former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other political leaders, Mwangaza slammed Linturi for going there ’empty handed’ without a party.

She said as Meru county boss she did opening, grading and murraming and culveting for 600 roads.

Mwangaza remained optimistic she will reclaim her seat as soon as her case which is still in the court of appeal is concluded.

She said as Meru governor she delivered many development projects but was impeached because of political brokers belonging to former Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi and former Agriculture CS Linturi.

Mwangaza said now that she was hounded out of office MCAs should be given Sh. 45 million per ward as they were demanding.
