The Methodist Church in Kenya Presiding Bishop Isaiah Deye has announced that he will serve only one term in office.
Speaking during the Nkubu Synod annual meeting at Nkubu Methodist Church, which brought together leaders from the Eastern region, Rev. Deye emphasized his commitment to fostering peace and harmony within the church.

He made it clear that, unlike some of his predecessors who altered church standing orders to extend their terms, he has no intention of clinging to power.
“For the sake of unity in the church, I will serve only one term as Presiding Bishop and then vacate the office,” Rev. Deye declared to the gathered faithful.
He also urged Methodist believers across the country to embrace forgiveness and reconciliation, stressing the importance of healing and unity within the church community.
Rev Deye, who is past the prescribed retirement age was elected into office after the ouster of Joseph Ntombura.
