Gikumene Girls High School Principal Peninah Mbitu has attributed the school’s recent good performance to students’ self drive and the morale from teachers

She said teachers had already realized the students potential and kept on motivating them to improve.

“They accepted freely to be given instructions and advice by teachers. They also had groupings where they helped one another revise for the final exam,” she said.

She said by second term the students were already prepared for KCSE and their abilities were almost the same and it was getting better day by day.

Mbitu said the students had given themselves a target of 7 mean score but they ended up getting 6.568.

“The students had their target and the teachers too had their target. The teachers had given them a target of 6.5 and we were happy they ended up surpassing the teachers target,” she said.
