Governor Isaac Mutuma has appealed to the Deputy President Kithure Kindiki to support critical development initiatives in Meru County.
Top on the list is economic empowerment, where the governor sought for support from the national government to fund programs that will uplift youth, women, and small businesses through training and access to capital.
He also requested KSh 500 million for the Kiirua water project, which will improve water access for thousands of residents and farmers.

Governor Mutuma emphasized that these projects are essential for improving livelihoods and accelerating development in the county.
“We are committed to transforming Meru through targeted investments that directly impact our people’s lives,” he said.
In healthcare, Governor Mutuma called for the upgrade of Kibirichia Level 4 Hospital to improve service delivery and ease pressure on referral hospitals.
To support sports and youth development, he further requested the fencing of Kibirichia stadium, ensuring safety and better management of the facility.
