The family of the late video blogger Daniel Muthiani alias “Sniper ” is calling for the immediate detention of the main suspect in his murder, Vincent Murithi Kirimi aka Supuu O’mioro.

The family claims the suspect has been mocking their pain by living freely, partying publicly, and showing no remorse while the case remains unresolved.

Led by Muthiani’s widow, Irene Kawira, the grieving family spoke out during a press address, expressing their frustration and renewed pain over the lack of accountability.

“It’s deeply hurtful to watch the man accused of killing my husband enjoying life as if nothing happened. He’s mocking our loss. We need justice, and we want him detained before the hearing begins,” Kawira said tearfully.

The murder case is scheduled to resume on June 4th, and the family says they fear interference or intimidation if the suspect remains out on bond.

In the same breath, the family extended heartfelt gratitude to Deputy President Kithure Kindiki for his unwavering support during their darkest moments.

“He stood with us and we are very grateful. We thank him for building us a home a gesture of compassion that has given us a fresh start amidst the storm,” said Kawira.

Sniper met his death on December 2, 2023, after receiving a phone call from Vincent Mureithi, alias Supuu, who requested to meet him in Meru town.

The meeting was allegedly to involve the former governor of Meru, Kawira Mwangaza, in an effort to resolve differences between them.

The deceased, who had been at home at the time, agreed to meet him only to be reported missing shortly after.

His body was later discovered in Mutonga River in Tharaka Nithi.

Five suspects, including Boniface Githinji, alias DJ Kaboom, Vincent Murithii, Kenneth Murangiri, Christus Manyara, and Brian Mwenda, alias Brayo, were arrested in the murder case and later released on bond.
