Deputy President Kithure Kindiki & Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma

Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering development projects across Meru County, assuring residents that all stalled initiatives will be completed before the next general elections.

Speaking during the Ujuzi Mashinani program held at Kibirichia Stadium, Buuri constituency, DP Kindiki emphasized that the government is prioritizing service delivery and equitable development across all regions, with Meru firmly included in the national agenda.

“All stalled projects will be completed before we head into the electioneering period. The people of Meru will not be left behind,” declared DP Kindiki.

A key highlight from his address was the unveiling of a Ksh 500 million Aggregation and Industrial Park, which aims to drive industrial growth, especially in agro-processing and value addition.

The park is expected to boost local manufacturing and create employment for thousands of youth and farmers in the region.

The Deputy President also noted that over 400 market centers are under construction countrywide, with 17 ongoing within Meru county alone.

The DP said the markets are aimed at improving trade, infrastructure and supporting small business owners.

He cautioned political detractors against misleading the public, saying:

“Let no one deceive Meru residents that they are not in Government. Meru is at the heart of this administration. The work speaks for itself.”

Additionally, Prof. Kindiki announced that more than 2,000 families in Meru will be connected to electricity through the ongoing last-mile connectivity program.

He underscored the administration’s resolve to light up rural areas and promote social development.

The Ujuzi Mashinani program, which focuses on youth empowerment and technical skills training, continues to attract support across the country, positioning skills development as a key pillar of Kenya’s economic transformation.
