United Democratic Alliance (UDA) officials in Tigania East have threatened to exit the ruling party citing neglect by the national leadership.

The resentful officials claim they invested significant resources and made extensive efforts to mobilize support for UDA in a region previously considered an opposition stronghold.

“We fought hard for UDA in this region, often against overwhelming odds. But after all that effort, Tigania East has been sidelined and excluded from key government positions and programmes,” John Mukiira, the UDA party Tigania East elections coordinator, said.

The officials are now weighing their options, including aligning with other political formations that they feel might address their grievances.

Mr Mukiira called for urgent intervention from the party’s top leadership to prevent further discontent and potential defections in the region.

This move could signal deeper cracks within UDA as the party faces growing pressure to fulfill promises made to grassroots supporters.
